Ewen MacIntosh, well known for playing “Big Keith” on the British sitcom “The Office,” has died. He was fifty.

MacIntosh died on Monday of “undisclosed causes,” Just Right Management said on Wednesday. According to the agency, MacIntosh had been suffering from “ill health” in recent years and was receiving treatment from a care home when he passed away.

“Ewen was a wonderful actor and an even better human being,” the company shared in a statement. “He made people laugh and possessed such a kind heart. He touched the lives of all who came into contact with him.”

The British comic played Keith Bishop, a monotonous, scotch egg-loving accountant, on the first season of “The Office.”

Ricky Gervais, creator and star of “The Office,” shared a tribute for MacIntosh on X, formerly Twitter, describing the actor as “very funny and very lovely” and “an absolute original.”

MacIntosh played Keith for the whole three-season run of the British comedy that spawned the popular American sitcom of the same name, starring Steve Carell and John Krasinski.

His other acting credits include two episodes of the British comedy series “Little Britain” as a bus conductor, Cliff Roberts, a trainer waiter in the 2015 romantic drama “The Lobster,” Splish in two episodes of the comedy series “Getting Back with Dave Benson Phillips,” and Lionel in the 2017 comedy romance “Finding Fatimah.”

His most recent roles include Mr. Bromley in the 2022 comedy “Hammer Home” and Richard in the 2023 horror picture “Nightmare on 34th Street.”

What Happened to Ewen MacIntosh?

Unfortunately, Ewen MacIntosh died on February 19, 2024, at the age of fifty. He was a popular actor and comedian, best remembered for his role as Keith Bishop in the British sitcom “The Office.”

The cause of death was not made public. Many people, including Ewen’s colleagues and fans, have expressed their grief at his death. He was known for his humorous talent, friendly demeanor, and distinct on-screen presence.
