On Sunday 9 July 2023, the suspect in the fatal sh**ting that took place on April 6 2023 ,in Mahany Park in Roseville escaped from the custody of police enforcement while he was being held at Sutter Roseville.
Eric James Abril, age 35, the suspect, was last seen wearing an orange prison uniform when he was taken into custody. It is currently impossible to determine what he has on his body at this moment. Abril has dark hair, stands at a height of approximately 6 feet, and weighs close to 175 pounds.
It was roughly 3:39 in the am on Sunday when he was observed going along Rainier Avenue in Rocklin, and then a few minutes later, he was seen walking along Saddletree Lane. Both of these sightings were captured on surveillance camera.
Rocklin, Loomis, Whitney, Granite Bay, and Roseville are all included on a map that was released by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, which reveals that the search area has been expanded. The image also discloses that the search area was expanded because the sheriff’s office received further information. Greenbrae Drive was investigated by the Bearcats, the police, and the K-9s in Rocklin after leads led them there.
“There’s a lot of open area here and that’d be a prime area that he could go in and out of,” said Rocklin resident Tom Griffin.
The neighborhood is connected by green belts to Sutter Roseville.
“I think that’s a little weird that he could just escape a hospital after you do a huge crime like that,” said Breyson Gonzalez, another Rocklin resident.
