On the 10 Freeway in Upland Sunday night, June 25th, ten vehicles collided, causing at least one person to pass away and six others to sustain injuries.

A child was observed being brought away on a stretcher, and several automobiles needed to be extricated. As CHP investigated the incident, traffic was backed up on both sides of the 10 Freeway at Euclid Avenue.

Even though the accident’s cause has not been made public, witnesses claim a car was traveling quickly.

In Upland, a deἀdly collision involving at least ten automobiles occurred Sunday night, June 25, almost closing both lanes of Interstate 10 as emergency personnel treated the injured and officials looked into what happened.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, one person died at the scene, and another had to be extricated from a severely damaged vehicle because of life-threatening injuries. The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center trauma unit received that person and others who sustained less severe injuries.

Up to 10 automobiles were reportedly involved in the accident at first. However, some may have had minor damage or belonged to bystanders or others who stopped to offer assistance. There were occupants in five or six vehicles who might have been hurt.

The fatal accident involved a lone driver. There was no easy access to any other information on that person. Soon after 8 o’clock in the evening, the collision was initially noted in the official California Highway Patrol log. The incident commander claimed that although the freeway wasn’t entirely shut down, there was a substantial backlog of traffic because there was only one lane open in each direction for a considerable amount of time.

An Alert was sent out at 9:32 p.m., reporting a significant closure, and the coroner was summoned at 9:19 p.m.  The injured had been removed for medical attention, and the situation had been turned over to the highway patrol for additional investigation shortly before 10 o’clock.
