The 31-year-old Broadway star, who grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, before attending Vassar College, received a Drama Desk Award and was nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway debut in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical in 2018. He went on to appear in off-Broadway productions of Camelot and Assassins before being cast in the Wicked adaption in December 2022.

On July 17, a source confirmed to ET that Grande and Gomez had divorced after two years of marriage, saying that the couple, who married in May 2021, five months after announcing their engagement, “ultimately were just not a good fit.”
Meanwhile, Slater married Lilly Jay, a former high school friend, in 2018. Last year, the couple had their first child, a son. Slater posted an anniversary tribute to his wife on Instagram in November 2022, stating, “My closest friend. 10 years together, 4 years married. And this is without a doubt the best year yet.” Grande enjoyed the post.
On July 22, a source close to Jay told ET that the divorce had left her “devastated” and that “this is not the future she had in mind.”
“She’s working hard to get back on her feet.” “She’s extremely intelligent and driven,” the person stated. “She truly is the best mother.” According to TMZ, who got the legal records, Slater filed for divorce from Jay on July 26 in New York City.
Following the divorce announcement, Jay provided Page Six an exclusive remark in which she referred to her family as “collateral damage” in Slater and Grande’s new romance. “It’s basically [Ariana’s] narrative. “Not a girl’s girl,” Jay declared. “My family is just collateral damage.” Stay tuned to The Current Online for more updates.
