The 67-year-old admitted on Britain’s Got Talent that she thought she would never act again. When asked how she felt about returning to the event 14 years after her first appearance, she said, “It’s extra special for me, actually, last April there, I suffered a minor stroke, and I thought it’d be crazy to be back on stage, and I have done it.”

Simon Cowell, beaming with pride, informed her, “If anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back because we wouldn’t be the same without you.” You are incredible.” The Judge acknowledged that he was aware of her health problems.

Fans took to social media, posting hundreds of supportive and encouraging comments on her Instagram. One post read, “You are so loved by so many, Susan. Glad to hear you are recovering. Stay strong and feel the love from the world around you.” Boyle talked up about the stroke’s influence on her voice and her successful return to BGT on Instagram.

“This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022, I had a stroke,” she wrote. “For the past year, I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed a Dream.’”
