A24 is known for making scary and unsettling movies with lots of social commentaries, especially about youth culture. The satirical horror-comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies, which was directed by Halina Reijn, was one of the highlights of A24.
It was about a party gone wrong and put the social media-dependent generation in the spotlight. Now, after a successful run in theatres in early August, the dark comedy is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October 18. It will have extras like audio commentary with the director, a look at how the movie was made, and some deleted scenes.
In the movie Bodies Bodies Bodies, which is about Generation Z, the story is told from the point of view of a “group of twenty-somethings” who are stuck on an isolated property during a hurricane. When someone insists on playing “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” a murder mystery game, the supposed fun hurricane party game quickly turns into a murderous bloodbath as one of the guests kills each player one by one.
As the group of “friends” tries to figure out who the killer is and starts to turn against each other, they have to learn who to trust and how to survive the unexpectedly bloody night of fun that turned deadly, fighting against the killer’s next move.
Bodies Bodies Bodies was written in a clever way by Kristen Roupenian, Sarah Delappe, Chloe Okuno, Joshua Sharp, and Aaron Jackson. It shows the most destructive things Gen Zers do when the Wi-Fi is off, or at least how the media portrays the younger generation. The black comedy horror movie is the latest film from A24 to get good reviews from critics and fans.
Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games), Oscar-nominated actress Maria Bakalova (Borat: The Sequel), Pete Davidson (The King of Staten Island), Myha’la Herrold (Industry), Chase Sui Wonders (Generation), Rachel Sennott (Call Your Mother), and Lee Pace are among the actors in the horror-comedy (The Hobbit Trilogy).
Don’t be the last of your “friends” to get a copy. The Blu-ray + DVD + Digital version of Bodies Bodies Bodies costs $39.99 and the DVD costs $29.96. A 4K combo package with Blu-ray, digital, and extra content will only be sold for $42.99 at Best Buy. While you wait for your copy of Bodies Bodies Bodies, you can watch the trailer and read the official plot summary below.
