Who Was Vaughn Ververs?

Vaughn Ververs was born in 1969 and raised in a tiny farming and ranching community east of Colorado Springs. He has visited Alaska. History was his major at CU Boulder.

Vaughn began his journalism career in the early 1990s as a reporter for multiple Arkansas newspapers. His National Journal political correspondentship began in 1999, covering Capitol Hill and national elections. He later edited Hotline, a daily political dispatch read by journalists and insiders.

He covered the 1992 presidential election and 1994 midterm legislative elections at The Hotline before joining television. My brief but demanding stint as Pat Buchanan’s 1992 presidential campaign deputy press secretary was my first taste of politics.

Ververs offered political analysis and comments to various outlets as a freelance writer and consultant after leaving the Hotline in 2008. In 2016, he published “The Long War: The Intellectual People’s Front and Anti-Totalitarianism, 1938-1950.” His wife Lisa lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with their three children.
