A man from Ohio kidnapped his girlfriend’s infant daughter, then ran from the police in a yellow Camaro, crashing it into a house, killing the child.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and the Tiffin Police Department, a guy abducted the baby near North Baltimore at roughly 3:45 p.m. on June 27, Tuesday. The Toledo metro region includes North Baltimore.

According to Tiffin police, the man stated he was “feeling homicidal and suicidal” and told the child’s mother that he had killed the baby.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of this innocent baby and to the deputies, officers and EMS that were involved in the lifesaving attempt for this infant,” Seneca County Sheriff Fred Stevens stated. “No one should have to deal with tragedy like this but unfortunately, they did today.”

Investigators stated he was driving a yellow Chevrolet Camaro while leading authorities on a chase.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Pauly stated-

“my heart breaks for the family of this innocent child and you can be sure this matter will be investigated thoroughly to determine exactly why and what occurred today.”

“The Camaro began accelerating and at a high rate of speed, erratically drove off the roadway through the front yard of one residence and crashing into another residence, knocking it off its foundation,” police said.

“My heart breaks for the family of this innocent child and you can be sure this matter will be investigated thoroughly to determine exactly why and what occurred today,” Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly said.

According to the sheriff, officers and deputies shattered the back glass and pulled the infant from the car because the youngster was bleeding from the head and having trouble breathing.

According to investigators, the baby died after being brought to a hospital in Toledo. The identity of the child has not been made public. A loaded pistol and two pieces of wasted ammunition were discovered in the automobile, according to police. The driver was critically injured and was brought to the hospital.

The chief says Baker floored it and slammed into a house at full speed when authorities tried to pull him over. The house was empty at the time. Police added that after breaking open the Camaro’s back window, officers removed the baby suffering from head hemorrhage and hard breathing.

The infant and Baker received immediate first aid from emergency personnel, and they were both flown by helicopter to Tiffin Mercy Hospital. Baker is still in serious condition, but the infant daughter died from her wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The detectives in the Camaro discovered two expended rounds and a loaded gun. Police declined to confirm whether Baker is the girl’s father.
