The anime “In Another World with My Smartphone” is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name. It is a funny story about a boy who is killed by a god by accident. Sure, that sounds sad at first, but the god resurrects the boy in another world full of magic, fantasy, and lots of interesting people to make up for the boy’s accidental death.
The god lets the boy bring one thing from Earth with him, and the boy decides he wants his smartphone and all the information from the old world back. The boy also gets superhuman abilities that help him do well in his new life. Isn’t it the perfect life?
The first season of the fantasy story, which had 12 episodes, aired in 2017. Since then, “In Another World with My Smartphone” has become more popular, and many fans want a second season. With 23 volumes of the original light novel out so far, there is definitely enough material for a rich, exciting second season of at least 12 episodes, if not more. But will it really happen?
So far, here’s what we know about Season 2 of “In Another World With My Smartphone.”
In Another World With My Smartphone Season 2 Release Date
The second season of Isekai wa Smartphone will come out in April 2023, during the Spring 2023 anime season.
What Characters Could Be In The Anime’s Second Season?
Season 2 of “In Another World with My Smartphone” would pick up right where Season 1 left off, just like the light novel series does. Because of this, it’s likely that many of the same people from Season 1 will be in Season 2.
A 15-year-old boy named Touya Mochizuki is accidentally killed by a god and then brought back to life in a new and magical world. Touya loves his phone and often uses it to find out about his old world. He also has magic skills that keep getting better and bigger.
As Touya travels, he meets a lot of girls who end up being his wives and traveling partners. Some of these characters are Yumina, the crown princess of the Kingdom of Belfast, Linze and Elze, her sisters, and Yue, whose samurai family is fighting a war in her home country.
Along with these characters, the second season of “In Another World with My Smartphone” is likely to continue the stories of supporting characters like Sushie, Leen, and others, as well as give Touya new friends and enemies.
What Could Happen If In Another World With My Smartphone Got A Second Season?
At the end of Season 1 of “In Another World with My Smartphone,” Professor Regina Babylon of Touya’s new world reveals that she made nine female robots about 5,000 years ago. Regina could see into the future and knew that Touya would one day come back and have nine wives.
She split up her own consciousness and broke up the Babylon Kingdom into nine parts, putting them in robots for Touya to find in the future. So, Touya must take a test to see if he is compatible with each robot. If he is, he would be able to take full control of the Kingdom of Babylon.
But the end of the season also hints at the introduction of a major villain from the light novel series called Fraze. Fraze is a group that travels to Touya’s world through a part of the inter-dimensional boundary that is weak and breaking down.
Since the Fraze has powers like Touya’s, Regina makes mecha weapons for Touya and the girls to use against them. As you can see, the story can get confusing and complicated, but Season 2 of “In Another World with My Smartphone” will be full of magic, battles, and big adventures for Touya and his friends.
