What Will ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ Be About?
The specifics of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery have yet to be revealed, but the trailer teased some of what is to happen.
Craig’s Benoit Blanc is on vacation with a group in Greece when a murder, or possibly more than one, occurs.
Netflix has also revealed the plot: “A series of mysterious invitations, a reclusive millionaire’s private island, and a wealthy group of friends bind it all together. And then there’s the matter of that mysterious death.”
Johnson discussed the film with Netflix, saying, “I was writing [Glass Onion] during the lockdown of 2020, and I wanted to be on a beach vacation more than anything.”
He continued: “So much of why I enjoy making these is because they bring me a lot of joy. Working with Daniel in this genre and having fun with it and the humour, as well as getting to work with a new group of actors every time, just makes me happy.”
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery Cast
Daniel Craig starred as the famous Detective Blanc in Knives Out. Along with him were a slew of talented actors such as Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Shannon. Daniel Craig, on the other hand, will be the only returning cast member in a completely separate story. But don’t worry, because Glass Onion has a stellar cast of its own, and Dave Bautista has assured everyone that they will play quirky and “colorful” characters. Here are some of the actors who will be appearing alongside Craig in the film.
As previously stated, Dave Bautista (best known for his role as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and other MCU projects) will join the cast as Duke Cody, a YouTube star and men’s rights activist. Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) will play Whiskey, Duke’s girlfriend and YouTube channel assistant, alongside Bautista. Ethan Hawke (Moon Knight) will play Duke’s unnamed assistant alongside Bautista.
The famous YouTuber and his crew will be joined by a couple of high-profile guests. Claire Debella, a Connecticut governor running for Senate, will be played by Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision). Meanwhile, Birdie Jay, a former supermodel turned fashion designer, will be played by Kate Hudson (Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon). Jessica Henwick will play her assistant Peg (The Matrix 4).
Speaking of high society, Edward Norton (The French Dispatch) appears in the film as Miles Bron, a tech billionaire. Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures) and Leslie Odom Jr. are up next (Hamilton). Both Monáe and Odom Jr. have ties to Miles Bron and will play Cassandra “Andi” Brand and Lionel Toussaint, respectively.
Miles’ ex-business partner is the brand, while Toussaint is a scientist who still works with the billionaire. Those connections will undoubtedly be important when Detective Blanc begins to unravel the film’s murder mystery.
