The popular, fictional team AFC Richmond from Apple TV will appear in the upcoming FIFA23 video game.
Ted Lasso’s imaginary team from the Emmy Award-winning TV show Ted Lasso will make its debut in FIFA23, which will be released this autumn.
AFC Richmond is a well-known, fictional football team on the Apple TV show that has won multiple awards.
The squad will now be immortalized in video game characters based on the actors that play Coach, Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), Roy Kent, Sam Obisanya, and star shooter Jamie Tartt, among others.
AFC Richmond will be a playable team in EA Sports’ annual FIFA release, with the team’s kit, Nelson Road stadium, and club badge selectable in Ultimate Team and Pro Club modes.
In Career Mode and online multiplayer matches, FIFA users can take charge of the new squad or join them with their own generated characters as either a manager or a player.
The official trailer, which was released on September 21st, contains characters such as Trent Crimm from The Independent, as well as a brief statement from the video gaming giant.
“He’s demonstrated he belongs in the game,” claimed EA Sports FIFA.
Sudeikis won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards in both 2021 and 2022, and the show as a whole won Outstanding Comedy Series in both years.
The show has won numerous honors, including the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes for best actor two years in a row, and Critics’ Choice Awards.
The official Ted Lasso Twitter account hinted at the trailer’s debut one day before it was released.

“As long-time fans of FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the entire AFC Richmond squad added into the newest version of the game is certainly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the boys,” Sudeikis stated in a news release.
“Our cast and staff work extremely hard on this program, and we are honored that it appeals to so many people.” We are excited for our supporters to be able to play with, as, and even against their favorite AFC Richmond characters.”
