In a startling revelation, internet users discovered that actor Vin Diesel remarkably resembles scientists’ best guess as to the appearance of Adam, the very first human to have ever lived on Earth.
“Scientists at Princeton University have reconstructed this 3D model of how Adam, the first human being created by God, might have looked,” reads a tweet from independent theater operator Alamo Drafthouse NYC on Thursday. Unquestionably, the image closely resembles the “Fast & Furious” movie franchise’s action star.

Vin Diesel‘s “first man” tweet gained a lot of attention on Twitter and now has more than 125,000 likes and 30,000 retweets.
However, there is no proof of any such research project at Princeton (perhaps this goes without saying?). Vin Diesel is the most recent celebrity to fall victim to the meme trend, which involves people posting images of famous people or 3D-rendered characters for comedic effect, as Twitter rather clinically put it in its description of the trending topic.
Just a reminder that we’re a movie theater, not an academic journal,” Alamo Drafthouse NYC commented on its original post in a wink. That being said, here’s our Soundcloud,” which instead links to the theater’s landing page rather than SoundCloud.
The joke was a parody of earlier viral memes, such as one that claimed to show a 3D model of what Joseph, Mary’s husband, might have looked like but was actually just Andre the Giant. While some users found the Vin Diesel-Adam joke confusing or amusing, others joined in on the fun:
