On Saturday 22 July, 2023, evening in Mountain Brook, there was a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a little girl.

It was approximately 5:26 p.m. when the collision took place in the 3400 block of Cherokee Road, as stated by the Mountain Brook Police Department. On Old Leeds Road, just before the collision, a sports utility vehicle was seen traveling at a rapid rate of speed before making a left turn onto Cherokee Road. You can see the tweet below:

After witnessing the incident, a member of the MBPD drove after the SUV and activated their emergency lights and siren in order to make a traffic stop.

While the SUV kept its rapid pace, one of the passengers threw two objects out of the window on the driver’s side. The SUV was destroyed in a matter of seconds. More police officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the location as soon as possible to provide assistance.

A mom and two little girls were taken to the nearby hospital in an ambulance. Because of the injuries she incurred in the collision, one of the girls passed away. After further investigation, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office determined that the young child who had been slain was Annabelle Mullican.
