Princess Kate shared some heartbreaking news in a video message recently. She revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment as a precautionary measure.

The diagnosis came to light after she had planned abdominal surgery, which revealed the presence of cancer. Kate didn’t go into specifics about the type or severity of the cancer in her message. This announcement comes after she underwent significant surgery earlier this year.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,” Kate said in the video recorded Wednesday.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.“
When her medical team gave the Princess the all-clear, a Kensington Palace spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry expressed their heartfelt support for Princess Kate and her family. A spokesperson for the Sussexes conveyed their wishes for Kate’s health and healing, hoping they can navigate through this challenging time privately and peacefully.
King Charles III, in a statement released by Buckingham Palace, expressed his pride in Princess Kate for her bravery in addressing her health situation. He emphasized his close connection with his daughter-in-law and their ongoing communication during this period.
James Middleton, Kate’s brother, took to Instagram to show his solidarity with his sister and posted a childhood picture with her on Friday.

“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” he wrote, adding the mountain and a red heart emoji.
The Princess of Wales stated that following her stomach surgery, it was determined that her disease was “non-cancerous.” However, subsequent tests revealed that “cancer had been present.” Her medical experts urged her to begin chemotherapy.
“This news was a complete shock, and William and I have been trying our best to handle it privately, especially for the sake of our young children,” she explained. “It’s been a process for us to come to terms with everything. I needed time to recover from the major surgery before starting treatment. But, most importantly, we’ve taken the time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that they can understand and reassure them that I’ll be okay.“
“I’ve been focusing on healing my mind, body, and spirit every day,” Kate added. “Having William by my side has been a tremendous source of comfort and support. And the love, support, and kindness from so many people mean the world to both of us.”
The princess asked for privacy as she completed treatment. “We kindly ask for your understanding as we, as a family, need some time, space, and privacy while I focus on completing my treatment,” she stated. “While my work has always brought me joy, I must prioritize my recovery for now. I eagerly anticipate returning to work when I am able. My thoughts are also with all cancer patients at this time. To anyone facing this disease, please keep faith and hope, you’re not alone.“
Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate has been working remotely during her recovery. She has been kept informed about the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood’s trial of a child development observation tool.
The Princess of Wales has not been seen publicly since December 25th. Buckingham Palace later disclosed her hospitalization for planned abdominal surgery on January 17th. Since then, she has made only a few appearances, leading to speculation about her well-being.
Kate was recently seen at the Windsor Farm Shop, nearly three months after her last official royal engagement. On Mother’s Day in the U.K., she shared a photo featuring her children with Prince William—Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte. However, the altered image stirred further speculation about her health and whereabouts.
Kate later apologized on Instagram, explaining that she occasionally edits photos as an amateur photographer. The palace declined to comment further when asked about the digitally altered photo.
“We don’t have anything to add,” the palace told Fox News Digital when asked for comments about the digitally altered photo.
