Jordan Janway, 27 years old, died in San Diego, California, on March 30, 2014. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on December 2, 1986, to Lynn (Norriss) and Jack Janway. After high school, he attended Northeastern State University and then relocated to Chicago to complete basic training. He then relocated to San Diego, where he served in the United States Naval Special Warfare from 2007 to 2008. He learned to skydive and dedicated himself to his interest there.
He was a master parachute rigger and Tactical Air Operations free-fall instructor. He also worked as a Skydive San Diego camera operator, coach, and tandem instructor. “Jordo,” as his friends affectionately referred to him, progressed to wingsuit base jumping, where he discovered his passion for actual flying as he traversed the world jumping over mountaintops, his favorite being in Switzerland.
Jordan was an aerial photographer who used ram-air technology to test new tracking and wingsuit designs. Above all, Jordan was a man who pursued his aspirations and lived his life to the fullest. He was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. Jordan leaves behind his parents; grandmothers JoAnn Janway, Tookie Hart, and Imaree Donoho; siblings Chandra Janway Johnson and husband Jimmie, Marianne Janway Robinson, and Caleb Janway; nephews Seth Robison and Dalton Janway; and nieces Genevieve and Lydia Johnson.

Jordan Janway’s memorial ceremony was placed on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at the Butterfly House and Gardens in Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with Reverend Cindy Culver officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to CASA for Children of Muskogee, PO Box 1274, Muskogee, OK 74402.
