Who Was Joe Reyda?
Gonzaga College High School’s athletic director since 2001 is Joe Reyda. He served as the associate sports director and dean of students from 1989 until 1995. He earned his psychology bachelor’s degree from the Catholic University of America. He lived in Kensington, Maryland, until his deἀth.
Joe Reyda received his education at Gonzaga College High School. Coach Reyda was a student-athlete who played both football and golf. He coached both sports at Eye Street for 18 years in football (three of those as Head Coach) and nine years in golf. He has worked for the company full-time for 32 years and served as AD for 20 years. Coach Reyda was honored by being inducted into the Gonzaga Joe Kozik Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.
Gonzaga has won 165 championships during his leadership as AD. Coach Reyda talked about a range of subjects in an interview, including his admiration for all of our head coaches and his ability to connect with them, the importance of organization and adaptability for all athletic directors, his thoughts on long hours and the recent installation of lights at Buchanan Field, a few of his favorite moments, and more.
How Joe Reyda Passed Away?
Joe Reyda, the esteemed and beloved athletic director of Gonzaga College High School for many years, passed away at his home this morning, June 27, 2023. The devastating news was shared on Facebook by Gonzaga College High School’s president, Rev. Joseph E. Lingan, S.J., ’75.
Joe made a significant impact on many people’s lives, and he left behind a large number of friends. President Rev. Joseph requested that everyone remember Tricia, his wife, and their two daughters, Molly and Caroline, in their prayers during this incredibly trying time. Joe Reyda’s Cause of Deἀth
We regret having to notify you about Joe Reyda’s passing. People said Joe Reyda had a warm disposition. Given the recent news, many people must be interested in learning the reason for the deἀth of Joe Reyda.
Joe Reyda had a heart attack and passed away. Joe was a beloved and important member of the Gonzaga school community. As a seasoned athletic director, he shaped the Gonzaga experiences of thousands of young men. He had a good heart and was an honorable leader.
He was a devoted friend, spouse, and parent. More than anybody else, he also had a deep passion for Gonzaga, giving of himself as a graduate, an accomplished coach, and a committed employee for more than three decades. Joe was a role model for pupils and coworkers and was the perfect man for others. We will sincerely miss him.

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things someone can go through in life. Any journey must finish with a destination. The person’s time on Earth has sadly ended now that they have died.
