After a shooting on Sunday, it was said that Darius Miles, who used to play basketball for Alabama, was charged with capital murder.

Miles, who was 21 years old, was reportedly one of two people charged in the shooting death. On Sunday, a video of Miles getting out of the Tuscaloosa County Jail showed up on Twitter.

Soon after that video came out, Miles’ page on Alabama’s website was taken down.

In a statement, the University of Alabama said it knew about “the recent charge” against Miles. Miles was kicked off campus and “is no longer a member of the Alabama men’s basketball team.”

On Saturday, Alabama beat LSU 106-66, so the arrest happened a few hours after the game. Miles was ruled out for the season before the game because he hurt his ankle. He sat on the bench during the game on Saturday and celebrated the win at the stadium with his teammates.

At 1:45 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was shot and killed while in a car. Sunday, Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told Al.com. The driver of the car found a University of Alabama police officer after the woman was shot.

The driver said he shot back in self-defense, and he may have hit one of the suspects. Police were able to find and arrest two suspects after talking to witnesses and looking at video footage, Kennedy told Al.com. Gunfire injured one of those suspects, but it wasn’t serious enough to endanger his life.

Kennedy said that it seemed like the shooting happened after the victim and the suspects had a “minor argument.”
