The Memphis Police Department reported that they attended to a gunshot in the area and discovered two victims, one of whom died at the scene, and the other was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Big Mota, the deceased victim, was later identified, and the injured person was reportedly his cousin.

The facts surrounding the shooting remain unknown, but some sources say that Big Mota was attempting to flee from someone who was following him, and his automobile collided with a semi-truck before being shot. The police have not revealed anything about the culprit or the reason for the shooting. The probe is still going on.
