According to authorities, actor Gary Busey is charged with a sex offense that reportedly took place last weekend at Cherry Hill, New Jersey’s Doubletree Hotel during the annual Monster Mania Convention.
When there was a report of a sexual offense, Cherry Hill Police went to the motel. The police department accused Gary Busey, 78, of Malibu, California, of two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one offense of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact, and one count of harassment as a result of the investigation.
Busey’s reps have been contacted by CNN for comment. It wasn’t immediately clear if Busey was being defended in this case by a lawyer.
On Saturday night, Cherry Hill Police Chief Robert Kempf told CNN that Busey, who was present at the gathering, was a party to the incident.

In a statement released to CNN on Saturday night, the law firm representing Monster Mania said, “At its convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, over the weekend, our client, Monster-Mania LLC, allegedly engaged in an incident involving attendees and a celebrity guest. Monster-Mania LLC is assisting law enforcement in their investigation. The celebrity guest was expelled from the event and told not to return as soon as the participant lodged a complaint. Additionally, Monster-Mania urged attendees to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.”
