The second season of the romantic comedy manga series Wotakoi was created by Fujita. A romantic or comedic anime series, it is also known as Wotaku ni koi Wa Muzukashii in Japanese. It started serializing in 2014 and is still winning our hearts today.
Wotakoi Season 2 Release Date
Our best guess is that Wotakoi season 2 will be released in 2022. We’re still waiting for official word on Season 2 of the show, and we’ll update this section as soon as we get it.
Yoshimasa Hiraike, who also wrote the script for “WOTAKOI: No Cheats for Love,” directed the eleven-part anime series “WOTAKOI: No Cheats for Love,” which aired on Japanese television in spring 2018. Takahiro Yasuda helped design the characters, and Akimitsu Honma composed the music. On-demand, Amazon Prime Video provides all episodes with subtitles.
Wotakoi Season 2 Cast
The characters in the television series Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku play many different roles, but four of them are crucial. We’ve provided you with a synopsis of each of these central figures’ pasts below. The show’s lead female character is Narumi Momose. She is 26 years old and enjoys playing video games, anime, and manga.
Narumi enjoys a wide variety of films and TV shows, but she has a particular soft spot for male-to-male romance. Being a fujoshi, Narumi doesn’t want to flaunt her interests in front of others. She therefore makes every effort to conceal her hobbies. Her childhood friend Hirotaka, on the other hand, discovers the ruse and the two begin dating.
Hirotaka Nifuji, a 26-year-old man who enjoys playing video games, appears in the show. Hirotaka enjoys video games in addition to manga and anime. He enjoys playing action, fighting, and first-person shooter (FPS) games a lot. Hirotaka, an otaku himself, believes that he and Narumi are made for each other.
He persuades Narumi to go out with him. Narumi and Hirotaka develop a love affair as the show progresses. But due to their awkwardness around each other and propensity to be by themselves, they struggle to maintain their relationship.
Tarou Kabakura, a 28-year-old character in the show, shares an office with Narumi and Hirotaka. One of the main characters in the show is her. Tarou has an otaku appearance when he is mature, which indicates that he enjoys manga and anime. Because of this, he appears so good.
Tarou, on the other hand, has a life outside of pop culture and is less obsessed with it than the typical otaku.
Last but not least, Hanako Koyanagi, a stunning 27-year-old employee who shares an office with Hirotaka and Narumi, is present. She is the show’s final leading lady.
Hanako is an otaku as well, but her hobbies include drama, stage acting, manga, and anime. Despite the fact that she and Tarou argue frequently, their relationship is solid.
What will happen in Wotakoi Season 2?
It’s very likely that the second season will pick up where the first left off. While both parties are embarrassed when Nao discovers Kou is a girl in one of the OVAs, the two are able to make up and even go on a date that causes them to think back on their relationship.
The first season adapted the first four volumes of the manga; if the second season contains the same number of episodes and OVAs, volumes five through eight may also be adapted.
As a result, viewers can expect to see an episode set in hot springs, Narumi’s first foray into cosplay, Nao and Kou’s developing romance, and of course, the romantic scene in which Kabakura proposes to Hanako after she loses her most priceless item—the matching necklace he gave her in high school. There will undoubtedly be a tonne of nerdiness, miscommunications, and most importantly, love.
WOTAKOI gets another OVA episode
It was announced on the official Twitter account of “WOTAKOI: No Cheats for Love” (jap.: “Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii”) that the series will soon receive a new OVA.
The new OVA episode, which will adapt the “Employee Trip Times” story (Jap.: “Shain Ryokou Kai”) from Fujita’s Romance series’ sixth volume, will be released on October 14, 2021, alongside the special edition of the eleventh and final manga volume in Japan. The production is handled by Studio Lapintrack (“Sarazanmai”).
Where to Watch
The series is accessible on Amazon Prime or Netflix and has a remarkable rating of 4.8 out of 5 after 451 reviews.
About Previous Season
In essence, Narumi will come to the realisation that Hirotaka is the only person who could truly love her for who she is, so she won’t need to hide her Otaku identity. It is a thing since their childhood. She also observes Hirotaka making a concerted effort to transform himself.
The final chapters will essentially demonstrate how she is considering this, and the final scene features the six main characters playing video games. After a quick getaway with Hirotaka, Narumi will kiss him and declare him to be her boyfriend.
Except for the kiss, this final scene is somewhat similar to the conclusion of OVA 3. Kabakura and Koyanagi got married. Kou and Naoya are also in love.
