Mike Flanagan has once again surprised us with a great horror series for Netflix. This one has a shocking cliffhanger ending that will make fans want to see season 2.
The Midnight Club takes place in a hospice for young people who are dying. The main character, Ilonka, is a cancer patient who tries to figure out the building’s mysterious past.
Ilonka has visions of two ghostly figures walking around the property, and public records show that a cult once met there. This suggests that the hospice is a place where supernatural things happen, which she hopes could be the key to a miraculous recovery.
The show keeps a good balance between scary scenes and emotional drama, and it never loses sight of how sad the situation is for the main characters (more on that in our The Midnight Club review).
The last scene of the season makes it clear that Flanagan wants to keep going with this story, so we’ll keep track of the latest news and rumors about the show’s future here. Keep reading for more.
Will There Be A Second Season Of The Midnight Club?
No one knows yet if The Midnight Club will be back for a second season. The show’s fate will probably depend on how many people watch it in the first month.
It helps that the showrunner, Mike Flanagan, has worked with Netflix before on the anthology Haunting and the miniseries Midnight Mass, both of which were big hits for the streaming service.
Once Netflix says whether season 2 of The Midnight Club will be renewed or canceled, we’ll let you know on this page. In the coming weeks, there should be news.
Why did she really come back to Brightcliffe so many years later? Does she still secretly believe in the magic of the Paragon? These are the things we want to know.
If there was a second season, we might also find out more about the industrialists Stanley and Vera Freelan, who might be the old ghosts that Ilonka and Kevin have been seeing.
Midnight Club Season 2 Cast Details
If The Midnight Club came back for a second season, we could expect Iman Benson (who plays Ilonka), Igby Rigney (who plays Kevin), Chris Sumpter (who plays Spencer), Sauriyan Sapkota (who plays Amesh), Aya Furukawa (who plays Natsuki), and Adia (who plays Cheri) to keep their roles.
It’s less clear if Ruth Codd or Annarah Cymone will join them since Anya died tragically in season 1 and Sandra left the facility for a second chance at life after an unexpected misdiagnosis.
After that shocking ending, Heather Langenkamp would have to come back as Dr. Georgia Stanton (or whoever she really is), and it would be nice to see more of the friendly hospice nurse Mark (played by Zach Gilford).
Is There A Trailer For The Second Season Of The Midnight Club?
Not at this time! Since the show hasn’t been renewed yet, we don’t expect to see new footage any time soon, but we’ll keep this page up to date if anything new comes out.
On Friday, October 7, 2022, you can stream The Midnight Club on Netflix. Netflix costs £6.99 a month to join. Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream are also ways to get Netflix.
