The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 Recap
When the Boys traveled all the way to Russia in search of the weapon that would put an end to their fight with Homelander, they had one goal in mind: to win. However, towards the end of the episode, they find themselves in a far more dangerous predicament.
Butcher’s hopes for the weapon stemmed from the fact that it had killed Soldier Boy, a Supe who appeared to be unkillable. To his utter dismay, he not only fails to locate the weapon but also finds that Soldier Boy is not, in fact, dead.
Not only are the Boys back to square one on that issue, but they now have another unstable and extremely deadly Supe on the loose.
Worse, the gang has lost the thread that had previously held them together. Butcher didn’t want the group to know about V-24 since he knew they wouldn’t like it. But Hughie, too, discovers his secret and takes the serum to gain temporary abilities.
MM’s faith in both of them is shaken as a result of this. Furthermore, Soldier Boy’s attempt to flee results in Kimiko’s death. Hughie is high on the effects of V-24, and Butcher is more focused on Soldier Boy, so Frenchie and MM are concerned about her. The whole circumstance causes MM to believe that they have lost their integrity and that staying together is pointless.
While we have yet to learn whether MM will leave the group for good, the volatility does not bode well for Annie. When she sensed Homelander was losing it, she wanted to quit the Seven. But she stayed because of the hidden weapon’s promise.
Homelander, on the other hand, shocks her by showing her Supersonic’s dead body at the end of the episode. He informs her that A-Train tipped them off and that Supersonic’s murder serves as a warning to her not to attempt another uprising. Annie is plainly disturbed by the ordeal, and the Boys’ failure to obtain the aforementioned weapon may aggravate her condition.
Hughie on V, on the other hand, may make things impossible for her to handle. What remains to be seen is how Soldier Boy returns to the scene and what this means for the Boys, especially Homelander and Vought.
For the time being, it appears that Homelander has defeated all of his foes and is now in command. Stan Edgar was the only person he feared or felt threatened by. Regardless of the scope of Homelander’s abilities, Edgar was always able to keep him under control.
His remarks had the ability to put Homelander in his place at any time. But now he’s been beaten by the Supe, who exploited Edgar’s secret wildcard. He now has the upper hand over everyone, including Victoria Neuman, who had caused significant Homelander a lot of problems.
