How I Met Your Father co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker said he would love to see Britney Spears as her How I Met Your Mother character again. The new sitcom spinoff debuted in the US with its first two episodes and introduced the main characters. For the moment, there have been no celebrity cameos, as often happened in How I Met Your Mother. Will we see Britney Spears playing her Abby then?
Over the years, celebrities such as Katy Perry, Enrique Iglesias, Joe Manganiello, and many others have participated in How I Met Your Mother. There was a brief appearance in the spinoff by Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl, but this is likely a recurring character on the show rather than a cameo. But Isaac Aptaker has big plans for How I Met Your Father.

One of the most prominent cameos on How I Met Your Mother was that of Britney Spears. The pop star appeared as Abby, the receptionist at Stella’s dermatologist’s office. The girl hates and loves Ted, so she and Barney pretend to be engaged to make the protagonist jealous. However, the story ends with Abby falling in love with Barney, which haunts him.
During an interview with ScreenRant, Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker talked about which cameos from the original series they would like to see on their new show. Isaac Aptaker said:
Let’s call Britney back… Why not? Britney, if you’re watching, there you have it. Come on. We’re at Paramount.
Of course, we don’t know if Britney Spears’ cameo in How I Met Your Father will ever see the light of day. Unless Aptaker was hiding something, Abby is not set to appear in the series’s first season. The pop star is also in a particular situation at the moment, now that her father’s guardianship has been lifted. However, if the singer wanted to get back into acting, a How I Met Your Father cameo would undoubtedly be a perfect way to start again.

It’s unclear exactly how Britney Spears’ character would fit into the How I Met Your Father storyline. However, the show has already found a way to call back to the original series, using Marshall and Lily’s apartment in New York. In the following episodes, we will find out if there will be other references to How I Met Your Mother, perhaps even with the appearance of some characters.
Hilary Duff Now Seeks A Lizzie McGuire Revival
Now that How I Met Your Father has debuted in the US, Hilary Duff is opening up about Lizzie McGuire’s revival series. In fact, for the first time, he explained what the plot would be for the show’s pilot episode, which was supposed to debut on Disney +.
For those who need to refresh their memory, the sequel series was in the process of filming for Disney +, but in the end, it never saw the light. Hilary Duff and the show’s original creator Terri Minsky wanted to tell a more grown-up story, following an age-true narrative that Lizzie would have had, but Disney didn’t have the same vision. So the project was shelved due to artistic differences with respect to the way to go. Terri Minsky left the show after only two episodes, and Hilary Duff followed shortly after when the studio decided to stop production.

During a conversation with Cosmopolitan, Hilary Duff talked about the pilot episode, of which fans also got the first taste thanks to a short teaser released at the time.
“My character was coming home with her parents because she caught her future husband cheating on her. He had taken a door in the face and needed to push his way through this situation. Yet he couldn’t think of anything other than the fact that he was about to turn 30. In my 34 years, I have realized that everything happens for a reason. There is a time and a place for everything. It just wasn’t his time. They ask me about it all the time, even today. This makes me realize that people still want to see it, and it’s delightful. The show isn’t dead, and it’s not alive; it’s just waiting there.”

Hilary Duff then spoke with the hope of the revival of Lizzie McGuire, and in the past, there had been talks about the possibility of seeing the series made by another studio, such as Hulu. However, the news never came out, and there was no mention. Now that How I Met Your Father has premiered on Hulu in the USA. All that remains is to wait and hope that the new series by Lizzie McGuire will also restart, as Hilary Duff would like.
