All 25 James Bond films will now be available to stream on Amazon in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other significant countries. From “Dr. No” to “From Russia With Love” to “Skyfall” and “No Time to Die,” everything will be accessible to stream on Prime Video beginning on October 5.

On October 5, the streaming service intends to release the documentary “The Sound of 007” as part of the franchise’s 60th-anniversary commemoration. On the same day, Prime Video will start streaming “The Sound of 007: Live From the Royal Albert Hall,” an exclusive recording of the live benefit event.

In “The Sound of 007,” directed by Mat Whitecross, the different performers who have played the slick super-spy on screen—from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig—is revealed.

The 25 Bond movies will only be accessible “for a limited time”; however, Amazon did not indicate how long that would be. The first 24 Bond movies will also be shown “for a limited period” in countries like Germany, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Brazil, except “No Time To Die.”

Since Amazon paid $8.5 million in 2021 to buy MGM, the 97-year-old studio that has housed the Bond series since its birth, the migration of Bond to Prime Video has been anticipated.

New ownership, however, does not guarantee that upcoming 007 adventures will bypass theatres and air only on streaming. Bond installments are expensive projects that typically cost $250 million to construct and at least another $100 million to market. Making money is considerably more challenging if you don’t play on the big screen. Given the pandemic-related restrictions, “No Time to Die,” the most recent Bond film and Craig’s fifth and final appearance in character, earned an astonishing $770 million at the global box office. The franchise has made almost $7 billion in total worldwide sales.

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the producers of “Bond,” also have unheard-of creative authority over the franchise, including ultimate say over distribution strategies, any spinoffs, and Craig’s eventual replacement. We take that obligation seriously,” Broccoli said.
