On Sunday, May 1, Randy Jackson, who used to be a judge on American Idol, showed up on the show. Fans were worried because the record producer was hard to recognise after he lost weight. His rare appearance on the show was during the 12th season of American Idol, about nine years after his last one.
Jackson’s appearance on Fox’s Name That Tune: Celebrity Edition last month also made his fans worry about how much weight he had lost. At the time, many of the TV personality’s fans used social media to ask about his or her health.
What Is Wrong With Randy Jackson Former “American Idol Judge”?
Randy Jackson was told he had type 2 diabetes in 2003, which made him start a diet. He later said that people in his family have had diabetes in the past. Jackson has spoken out about his chronic illness in a variety of media outlets and on social media since discovering it.
Jackson said that after he was diagnosed in 2003, he had surgery to help him lose weight. This helped him lose about 114 pounds. An interview he gave to Today in February 2021 says that the artist and R&B star weighed more than 350 pounds in the early 2000s.
In an interview, he said, “I was around 358.” I had to write it down, man. A gastric bypass was the procedure I underwent. I started a vitamin company called Unify Health Labs. I often say that food is what made my marriage fall apart. I need to start over and let go of everything.

What Did Randy Say About His Health And Weight Loss Journey?
The 20th anniversary of American Idol is not the first time people have worried about Randy’s health.
During an interview on the Today show in January 2021, he talked about his fight against diabetes and how he eats.
He told Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb: “I started this health routine when I was on American Idol many years ago.” “The second season, I think.”
“I lost a lot of weight, but then I started to gain it back.” I went on my own journey to try to figure out, “How do I keep it off?” “What Should I Do?”
Randy told the hosts that his new diet plan “has been long overdue.”
His explanation on the Today show was a lot like what he said in Body and Soul.
The producer wrote, “Diets, liquid fasts, weight-loss drugs—you name it—and none of them ever worked for long.”
“But when I ended up in the hospital, I had to face the fact that all of those methods had failed.”
