Sajak began his career in his hometown of Chicago. His first job was as a newscaster for the local Spanish radio station ‘WEDC.’ He was responsible for reading a 5-minute newscast every hour on the hour from midnight to 6:00 AM during his term.
When he returned to the Army in 1972, Sajak got a job as a disc jockey on a radio station in Murray, Kentucky. He worked there for a year.
