Ministry and Church Planting

Hodges relocated to Birmingham, Alabama, in 2000, to establish a life-giving church that would reach out to individuals with the gospel and help them grow in their faith.

In 2001, he co-founded the Association of Related Churches (ARC), a non-profit organization that helps start and connect churches across the country. He also launched Highlands College, which trains students for full-time ministry employment.

Hodges held the Church of the Highlands’ inaugural service in the Mountain Brook High School auditorium in February 2001, attended by 34 individuals.

The church expanded significantly and relocated to its site in 2007. Today, the Church of the Highlands has more than 60,000 members and 23 sites throughout Alabama. It is recognized for its contemporary worship style, pertinent teaching, small groups, and outreach programs.

Hodges is also a best-selling author, with titles such as Fresh Air, Four Cups, The Daniel Dilemma, What’s Next?, Out of the Cave, and Pray First.
