Daniel Dumile, better known as the influential, mask-wearing rapper MF DOOM, died at the age of 49 in late October, according to a post on social media by his wife. Dumile’s wife, Jasmine, says that DOOM died on October 31. But the reason for his death has not been found.
“The best husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover, and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for everything you’ve shown, taught, and given to me, our kids, and our family “she typed. “Thank you for teaching me how to forgive people and give them a second chance, and not to judge and give up on them so quickly.
Thank you for showing me how to love and be the best person I can be without being afraid. Without you, my life will never be the same. I can’t put into words how much you and Malachi mean to me. I love and adore you both always. May THE ALL keep blessing you, our family, and the whole world.”
Rhymesayers, an independent hip-hop label that has worked with DOOM in the past, posted on Twitter:
Daniel Dumile first got into rap as Zev Love X, a member of the group KMD (Causing Much Damage) with his now-deceased younger brother DJ Subroc and MC Rodan.
Later, Dumile changed his name to MF DOOM and went on to make underground hits like “Operation Doomsday,” “Mm..Food,” and “Madvillainy,” which were praised by critics.
