Jax Taylor And Brittany Cartwright’s Divorce
In February 2024, Brittany revealed that she and Jax—who had a 2-year-old kid named Cruz—had called it quits on their four-year marriage.
The Kentucky native said on their When Reality Hits podcast, “Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
Brittany continued, “I’m taking it one day at a time. I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”
When Bravo released the trailer for their upcoming series The Valley, a month later, the couple’s problems were considerably more visible.
As Brittany said in the March 11 teaser, “I don’t feel like he’s attracted to me, we don’t have fun ever,” Jax said, “It’s so hard to be married sometimes.”

In reality, during the filming of The Valley’s April 16 episode last summer, the now-separated couple agreed that divorce was not an option, but they were brutally honest about their issues in the relationship. Jax scolded Brittany for returning home drunk following a fun-filled night out with her Bravo co-stars.
He told her, “I don’t understand why you can’t go out and have a couple of drinks. Why do you have to go out to the point where you have to throw up?” But in response, she criticized him for his hypocrisy, saying, “That’s exactly what you do too.”

Jax, who is married to Brittany and has a son named Cruz, revealed, “I’m a little worried because, not only is she my wife, she’s a mother, and we need ya. If you keep this up, you’re gonna destroy your body. There are other ways to have a good time. We live in California, you can smoke a joint. You can do other things.”
Jax then inquired as to whether his wife had told her fellow Valley cast members about their problems in the bedroom. She answered right away, without holding back.
