Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got to know each other while they were both judges on the reality singing show “The Voice.” On Saturday, they got married.
Stefani put an end to wedding rumors with an Instagram post on Monday. She wore a robe and flipped back a wedding veil with a white bow on top. Stefani wrote “July 3, 2021” with a heart emoji in the caption and tagged Shelton. It was the first time Stefani talked about her wedding on her Instagram page.
The ceremony took place on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, in a chapel that Shelton built for Stefani on the property, according to the “Today” show. The wedding was small, with only 40 guests, and “Today” and “Voice” host Carson Daly was the one who married them.
On Monday, Stefani posted a bunch of wedding photos with the hashtag #married. One of them showed her Vera Wang dress as she posed with Shelton under a beautiful twilight sky.
Stefani wrote in the caption, “Dreams do come true!!!
In the gallery post, there was a picture of the happy couple. Shelton was wearing blue jeans and driving a colorful golf cart while Stefani waved a white flower bouquet while wearing white cowboy boots.
In another picture, the couple was kissing in front of a wedding cake with many layers.
Vera Wang said in a press release that Stefani wore a custom-made lily-white gown with a deep V-neck and a cut-away back. The chapel-length veil had the names “Gwen” and “Blake” hand-stitched on it, along with the names of Stefani’s three children: Kingston, 15, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 7. At the edge of the veil, there were two white roses on either side of the names.
Stefani wore a lily-white, strapless mini-dress made of Italian silk crepe by Vera Wang to the reception. Stefani showed the whole outfit on Instagram, including the white cowboy boots and fishnet stockings that went with it. She wrote in the caption, “You need a party dress when you get to marry @blakeshelton.”
A pair of hand-stitched love birds added a special touch to the embroidery on the dress. Three baby birds, which stood for Stefani’s children, joined the birds.
Stefani posted a cute picture of her kids with Shelton at their wedding reception on Instagram on Wednesday. Shelton had his arm around Kingston.
Peter Gabriel’s “Your Eyes” was the first song the couple danced to as a couple. Stefani posted a picture of the slow-dancing couple on her Instagram stories, and Shelton’s dog Betty can be seen walking behind them.
Daly also posted pictures of his family at the wedding with the newlyweds on Instagram.
“Here comes the bride…so honored to get to marry two of my favorite people on earth. May God bless you both in this new part of your lives. We love you!” he wrote Tuesday.
On The Today Show, Daly said, “The best way to describe the wedding is that it was perfect for them.” “It was as classy, cool, and elegant as Gwen, and as country, down-to-earth, and fun as Blake.”
It sounds like a pair of “unlikely” words. “They are like if you paired the delicious fried chicken with a glass of champagne. On the menu, it doesn’t make sense, but it does,” said Daly.
