A prison escapee who had been on the run for over a month was apprehended in Florida. Sean Williams, who had been on the run for more than a month after escaping from a prisoner transport vehicle, was apprehended in Pinellas County, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Williams is facing state charges for child rape, aggravated sexual battery of a kid under the age of 13, and highly aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. He is also facing federal accusations, including eluding capture. On October 18, Williams eluded capture during a prisoner transport. Authorities earlier stated that the cargo van’s camera was destroyed and that he fled through a broken back window.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation says he was sighted near Tampa, in Pinellas County, on Nov. 21. He was last seen in Sylva, North Carolina, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

A U.S. Marshal, David Jolley, verified that he was apprehended on Tuesday. He stated that Williams was being held in Kentucky prior to the most recent escape from the prison van after a second escape attempt in Washington County.

It was because Williams had taken a car in Greeneville a few days before that they were able to find him in Florida. Tuesday, a police officer saw the car and started chasing it. Jones said Williams got out of the car, left his things behind, and started running in Pinellas County.
