A former Nickelodeon personality who later became a star of the soap operas Another World and One Life to Live, Robyn Griggs passed away. She was 49.

Griggs’ buddy issued a notice about her passing on her Facebook page on Saturday.

The statement said, “With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing.” She would want us to keep in mind that she is no longer in pain and has pleasant recollections.

The email from her buddy continued, “I will never forget how open she was to tell her tale and welcoming of me helping her convey it. “In order to accomplish so, she wanted to share her tale and aid others. I felt privileged to do so.”

RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you,” the statement concluded.

It is unclear who represented Griggs at the time of her death.

Prior to the announcement, the late actress revealed in previous posts that she had been battling stage four endocervical adeno cancer.

Last month, Griggs shared with her followers she had four tumors: “two new tumors on my liver, one on abdominal muscle and [a] large one on [the] right side lymph node.”

Griggs began her career in entertainment on Nickelodeon’s Rated K. She was born on April 30, 1973, in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. The 1986–1988 series featured young actors giving younger viewers movie reviews.

Griggs made her One Life to Live debut as Stephanie Hobart in April 1991, and she played the character on a recurring basis for six episodes. Later, she made an appearance on Another World as Maggie Cory, a role that she played for two years.

Griggs was also well-known for her work in films, having starred in Severe Injuries, Dead Clowns, The Absence of Light, and Hell week, among others.

Griggs’ father posted on her Facebook page a few days before she passed away that his daughter will be entering hospice care and said, “She has fought with determination, bravery, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational.”
