A community search party is set to look for a missing man who fell off his boat on Sunday.
James Jaronczyk, 28, of Massapequa, was alone on a 22-foot Progression skiff on the Great South Bay at 4:33 p.m. when he fell into the water.
He was alone when James Jaronczyk fell off his boat in the Great South Bay. Bill Horn says the move will be a “big push to search the waters” for Jaronczyk.
Horn said that anyone who wants to join the effort and has a boat, jet ski, kayak, scuba gear, a drone, or is willing to walk along the shorelines is free to do so.
The group will work together to set up a grid and give each crew a section to check or search.
“The more people who help with this search, the more likely it is that we will find James,” they said.
Marine Bureau officers are also still looking for the plane. They are using four boats and sonar equipment to do this. Suffolk County Police said a dive team had been sent to the Great South Bay.
A spokesperson told that the Coast Guard started looking for Jaronczyk on Sunday afternoon and stopped around 8 p.m. on Monday.
