The Whitewater High School community and the Wildcat Band are mourning the passing of former Band Director Madison Argo on Thursday.

During his five years at Whitewater, Mr. Argo brought an abundance of vitality and a friendly, outgoing demeanor to the school, which made him not only an exceptional director but also a valued colleague and friend to many. Currently, the cause of his death is uncertain; however, we will provide updates as soon as they become available.

Who was Madison Argo?

Madison Argo, a native of Alexander City, Alabama, had a remarkable educational and musical voyage. After graduating from Benjamin Russell High School, he continued his education at Ball State University, where he earned a Master’s degree.

Madison’s commitment to music shone vividly during his time at Auburn University, where he served as Drum Major for the AUMB during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In addition to being a talented musician, he also served as President of the Auburn chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.

Madison continued to give back to his alma mater after graduation by frequently returning to campus to instruct at marching leadership workshops, assist with marching honor band festivals, and participate in Alumni Band activities.

During his tenure at Auburn, Madison was consistently recognized as one of the most outstanding students due to his exemplary character. He later served as the director of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, and as a teacher in the Garland Independent School District.

During his tenure at Whitewater High School, the Wildcat Marching Band accomplished incredible exploits, including performances at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland, and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Madison Argo’s legacy as an educator and musician is one that will always be remembered and cherished.
