Who is Duane “Keefe D” Davis?
Duane Keith Davis was born in Compton, California at the age of 60. Many in the entertainment industry recognize him by his stage name, “Keffe D,” and he claims to be a member of the California-based organization South Side Compton Crips (SSCC).
Davis gained notoriety as one of the only surviving witnesses to Shakur’s murder after appearing in television specials for A&E, USA Network, and Fox.
In 2018, he confessed in an interview with BET that he was in the Cadillac when Shakur was shot. He claimed that his deceased nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was one of two persons in the rear seat when the shots were fired.
Johansson reported on Friday that prior to leaving the MGM Grand, Shakur and Knight located their rival Anderson near the elevators and began to attack him. Johansson stated that security broke up the fight, and the two exited the MGM to attend the post-fight party.
Davis, according to Johansson, simultaneously learned what transpired inside the MGM and “began to formulate a plan to acquire a firearm and exact revenge against Suge Knight and Mr. Shakur for the incident.” Anderson, also from Compton, passed away in May 1998. Police claimed he was also a member of the SSCC gang.
What is Duane Davis Charged With?
During a Friday press conference, Clark County District Attorney Steven B. Wolfson told reporters that Davis is charged with one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and with the intent to promote, further, or facilitate a criminal gang. After being indicted by a grand jury, Davis is scheduled to appear in court in the coming days on the murder allegation.

Wake Me When I’m Free” will be performed at L.A. Live in 2022. Dear Mama, a multi-part series about Shakur and his mother Afeni Shakur, was released this year by FX.
Prior to his death, Shakur served time in prison after being accused of sexual assault in the 1990s. According to XXL magazine, he married his fiancée Keisha Morris there. Ten months later, the magazine reported that their union was dissolved.
