The Dubuque Community School District has employed Jesse for the past 18 years. He taught physical education at Sageville Elementary, where he began his career. At Roosevelt Middle School, he later advanced in his profession as a student needs a facilitator. Ultimately, he succeeded this past year in achieving his ambition of becoming the Principal at Marshall Elementary.

Jesse loved watching sports and especially enjoyed rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Iowa Hawkeyes. Above all else, he treasured his time with his loved ones. His three children were his pride and joy, and he loved Heather, his wife and his high school sweetheart. Anyone who came into contact with Jesse immediately recognized what a nice, selfless, and caring guy he was. He could make everyone in the room feel like they were the most important person there because of his infectious smile.
