Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her husband have decided to end their relationship. Blanchard, 32, took to Facebook to share the news of her separation from Ryan Scott Anderson.
This announcement comes just three months after Blanchard’s release from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, where she served over eight years for her involvement in the plot to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, alongside her then-boyfriend Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn.

Blanchard made the breakup public through a statement on social media, stating, “People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved back in with my parents’ home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am.”
The couple had married in a jailhouse ceremony with no guests in July 2022. In a previous interview with people before her release in December 2023, Blanchard expressed her intention to marry Anderson again after her release.
She mentioned plans for a reception or redo wedding with family and friends, as she felt they deserved a proper celebration. However, the couple has now decided to part ways.
Blanchard had been looking forward to starting a life with Anderson after her release, expressing excitement about the prospect of living with a man for the first time.
Blanchard was convicted of the killing of her mother, Dee Dee, who was found dead in June 2015. Her then-boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, was also charged in connection with the murder.
During the trial, it was revealed that Dee Dee had subjected Gypsy to unnecessary medical treatments and fabricated illnesses, leading to the argument that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a form of child abuse.
Gypsy pleaded guilty in 2016 and received a 10-year prison sentence, while Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 2019 for first-degree murder.
Recently, Blanchard shared a video on TikTok before deleting her social media accounts, in which she apologized for her lack of accountability in the first month after her release from prison. She expressed regret and stated that she was taking accountability for her actions.
According to a source, Blanchard deleted her accounts under the advisement of her parole officer to avoid potential repercussions that could lead her back to jail.
