Bill Mclaughlin dἰed abruptly at home. William Gerald McLaughlin of Roblin dἰed at the age of 61 on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Bill was a good man with a big heart, and his laughter and love of life affected many people. For nearly 30 years, he dedicated himself to assisting those harmed by the world, bringing his compassion and wit to assist them in finding a way forward.
His raw edges found a home in rugby, particularly with the Aurora Barbarians RFC, where he found so much delight throughout his life as a terrific player and wonderful coach. As a son, younger brother, uncle, and cousin, he was a charming mischief-maker who made everyone’s life more exciting because he was in it. Wise and innocent, kind and keen, occasionally rude but always caring.

The family welcomed friends at the Hannah Funeral Home in Tamworth on Thursday, December 29, from 7-9 p.m. Service on Friday, December 30th, at 1 p.m. Tamworth Cemetery holds a spring interment. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Bill Mclaughlin Cause of Death
Bill McLaughlin, 61, dἰed of natural causes. Bill was a large man who touched many with his humor and zest for living. He devoted almost 30 years to assisting individuals broken by life, using his compassion and wit to point the path forward. Throughout his life, he found so much satisfaction as a terrific player and fantastic coach for the Aurora Barbarians RFC, where he could let his guard down and be himself.
Bill’s family and many friends will miss him much. Gerald McLaughlin and Marion Marlin, Bill’s parents, dἰed while he was a child. Sandra Stec (Dennis) of Ottawa, Karl McLaughlin of Roblin, and Brenda McLaughlin (Ronald Purcell) of Thornhill are his siblings. Deryk Stec (Catherine), Ryan Stec (Véronique), Shawna Wilson (Dave), Chris McLaughlin (Katarina), Jason McLaughlin (Mary), and Amanda McLaughlin all have him as an uncle. Several wonderful nieces and nephews survive as well.
