Kenneth Clark Loggins is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He was born on January 7, 1948. He recorded his first songs with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970. This led to Loggins and Messina making seven albums from 1972 to 1977. His first movie soundtrack work was for A Star Is Born in 1976, which is why he is called the “King of the Movie Soundtrack.”
As a solo artist, Loggins had a string of soundtrack hits, including “Footloose,” which got him a nomination for an Academy Award in 1985. Finally Home came out in 2013, not long after Loggins, Gary Burr, and Georgia Middleman formed the band Blue Sky Riders. He was nominated for an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and a Golden Globe Award, and he won a Daytime Emmy Award and two Grammy Awards.
