For those who preorder the game digitally, Activision is releasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s single-player campaign more than a week early.
The promotion, which was announced on the Call of Duty website, gives players unlimited access to Modern Warfare 2’s campaign beginning on October 20, well in advance of the game’s scheduled to release on that day.
Any digital preorder of the game, including PS4 and PS5 through the PlayStation Store, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S through the Microsoft Store, and PC through either Steam or Battle.net, can receive early access.
Additionally, preordering gives PlayStation users access to two different beta weekends in September (compared to just one for other platforms) as well as a number of skins for Call of Duty: Warzone, the Battle Royale game from the previous year.

In the 2019 sequel to Modern Warfare, the new campaign features Captain John Price, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Simon “Ghost” Riley, and John “Soap” MacTavish as well as locations throughout the world.
As stated in our preview, “The scant sample material [we] saw for Modern Warfare 2’s campaign shows great promise. It restores the original Modern Warfare gameplay while modernizing it and adding new environments and elements to keep the franchise feeling current.”
