Saw X Release Date
Saw X Release Date

Saw X will be released in theaters this year, and in the legendary words of Star Wars pilot Poe Dameron, “Somehow… Jigsaw returned.” That’s correct. Despite having d!ed in a previous film, the guy behind the sadistic, tricycle-loving puppet and face of the blood-soaked Saw trilogy returns for this year’s sequel.

You’re probably flooded with questions, just like someone who awoke to find their head tied into a rusted and dangerous-looking piece of machinery. Thankfully, we’re here to provide them to you – and, unlike Jigsaw, we don’t ask for anything in exchange. Continue reading to learn everything you need to know about the upcoming Saw X, including its release date, plot, trailers, and more.

When Will Saw X Be Released?

Saw X will be released in UK theaters on Friday, September 29th, just in time for the spookiest season of the year and just a few weeks before Halloween.

Is Saw X A Prequel?

Saw X, as the title suggests, is the tenth installment and follows 2021’s Spiral: From the Book of Saw, which starred Chris Rock and served as a type of spin-off based in the Saw universe.

Screenwriters Josh Stohlberg and Peter Goldfinger worked on the project. They also wrote Jigsaw in part eight and have returned to write this next installment, which will be directed by Kevin Greutert, who also directed Saw VI and Saw 3D.

Despite being the tenth film in the series, Saw X brings us back to the beginning and serves as a prologue to Saw II. This means we’ll be transported back to Jigsaw’s violent prime, as well as the return of puppetmaster John Kramer, a.k.a. franchise star Tobin Bell.

Saw 10 first-look poster was released on July 26, suggesting that the movie will return to its gory traps. Check it out:

Saw 10 Cast

Tobin Bell, the original Jigsaw, will reprise his role in Saw 10. On July 21, fans got their first official peek at Bell’s return when Saw’s social media outlets shared the first screenshot from the upcoming sequel. Shawnee Smith, who played Amanda in the original three Saw films (and featured in archive material in the subsequent episodes), will also reprise her role.

Because Spiral is a spinoff, we’re unlikely to see Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, or Max Minghella. However, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to expect Cary Elwes to reprise his role as Dr. Lawrence Gordon.

Saw 10 Plot Details

Saw X, as previously reported and later confirmed by the production studio, is scheduled to take place between Saw and Saw II. Fans can expect another gruesome tale of John ‘Jigsaw’ Kramer after this in-between chapter.

As we all know, the renowned and ruthless ki!!er was dying of cancer. Jigsaw will be seen by Saw X traveling to Mexico in the hopes that an experimental operation may cure him. However, the operation is soon shown to be a fraud, prompting him to go on another deliberately gruesome mu*der rampage on the scammers.

“We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love,” stated Saw producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules in a statement. “Part of that is entrusting the project to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which remains one of the series’ fan favorites.”

Saw X Release Date

Given the poor reaction of Jigsaw and Spiral, with the former extending Jigsaw’s origins and the latter taking place years after the “final chapter,” it wouldn’t be surprising to see Saw 3D pick up where Saw 3D left off. Spoiler alert for the Saw franchise…

After numerous movies of seeing Matt Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) wreak havoc, The Final Chapter finished with him being apprehended by a secret third apprentice: Dr. Lawrence Gordon, who left him for dead in the same toilet from the first film. Stay tuned to The Current Online for more updates.
