A new trailer for Netflix’s Money Heist Berlin spin-off series has been released. Following the success of the original Money Heist, which spawned a Korean spin-off, Netflix continues to expand the franchise.

The streamer has released a first-look trailer for the prequel series Berlin, which will follow the character Andrés de Fonollosa. The original series followed The Professor and his team of eight as they attempted to pull off the greatest robbery in Spanish history. The group is able to break into Spain’s Royal Mint, hold 11 people hostage while printing millions of dollars, and rob the Bank of Spain, stealing just enough gold to not harm the economy.

Who is behind Berlin on Netflix, and who will star in it?

Alex Pina will return to write for the show. He’ll be collaborating with his production company, Vancouver Media. Atresmedia is also listed as a production company.

Pina signed a contract with Netflix in July 2018 and renewed it in March 2022.

What will the theme of Berlin be?

As the title implies, we’ll concentrate on the titular character Berlin, also known as Andrés de Fonollosa.

Despite the fact that his backstory was explored in season 5, there is still a lot we don’t know about Berlin. There are five ex-wives, including Tatiana (played by Diana Gómez). In the series, he described his relationships as the “5 times he believed in love.”

Given that Berlin is The Professor’s brother, we’ll probably look into their childhood together. We also don’t know much about their father’s death or how he met Palermo (another Berlin lover), Marsella, and Bogotá.

We may also see more of Berlin’s heist on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, where he stole 434 diamonds. We might also see more of his fight against Helmer Myopathy.

Pedro Alonso and Alex Pina discussed the upcoming spinoff at Netflix’s 2022 Tudum event.

“Love and heists,” Pina said as her first response to the question of what the new series is about. “This is going to be a journey through the character’s golden years,” Pina added. When he was madly in love and stealing all over Europe.”

We also saw the first script (the 33rd version), which has the episode title “Historias de Paris,” which translates to “Paris Stories.”

David Oliva, David Barrocal, Esther Martinez Lobato, and Alex Pina wrote the script.
