Ana de Armas, a natural brunette, is taking on the role of Marilyn Monroe, one of Hollywood’s most infamous blondes.
The first full-length trailer for “Blonde,” which was published by Netflix on Thursday, depicts Monroe being tormented by fame.
“You’re meant to grow used to it, and I know that, but I can’t. I have performed as Marilyn Monroe several times. Doing another scene with Marilyn Monroe is too difficult for me “De Armas, 34, identifies as the recognisable blonde.
She says in a talk with a reporter: “Marilyn is not real. I’m Norma Jeane when I exit my dressing room. When the camera is rolling, I remain her. Only onscreen does Marilyn Monroe exist.”
On the edge of tears, Monroe is shown in the trailer for the NC-17 movie, which will be available on Netflix on September 28. The teaser shows her dealing with the persistent paparazzi, her relationships with different men, and her downward slide while locked as a Hollywood icon.
Teaser for “Blonde”: Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe experiences a range of emotions
According to the Netflix synopsis, “Blonde,” which is based on the best-selling book by Joyce Carol Oates, “boldly reimagines the tangled life of icon Marilyn Monroe.” “Artfully exploring the contrast between her public and private life, the film blurs the borders between fact and fiction.”
The movie will also look into Monroe’s life before she became famous as Norma Jeane, her ascent to stardom, and her relationships with men along the way.

De Armas stated that director Andrew Dominik intended to convey Monroe’s story “through her perspective” in an interview with Netflix Queue last month.
According to de Armas, “every scene is inspired by an existing photograph.” “What Norma Jeane was feeling in this situation was always the first question asked. Marilyn became the most well-known person in the world thanks to fame, but Norma became the least noticeable.”
After the Met Gala dress fiasco, Kim Kardashian’s fascination with Marilyn Monroe has returned.
After Kim Kardashian donned a vintage Monroe outfit to the 2022 Met Gala in May, attention to Monroe’s life and legacy was rekindled.
Monroe wore a skin-tight, dazzling nude dress created by Bob Mackie in 1962 when singing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy, according to an expert who is intimately familiar with the garment who told USA TODAY on June 15 that Kardashian looked to have irreparably damaged it.
Chad The outfit had irreversible damage, according to visual artist and curator Michael Morrissette, who saw it on display on June 12 at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Morrissette claimed to have handled the garment before when he put it on display for Julien’s Auctions in 2016, where Ripley’s bought it for $4.8 million.

To compare how the dress appeared before Kardashian wore it, Morrissette snapped pictures of it and shared them with Monroe artefact collector Scott Fortner. Fortner then reposted the pictures on Instagram.
“It was tailored to Marilyn’s physique and she wore it one evening. Like skin covered her body, “Morrissette said.
Kardashian teamed up with Ripley’s to wear it to the Met Gala sixty years later. She reportedly only wore the garment for a short period of time before changing into a copy in order to protect the original.
“I have the utmost regard for the outfit and what it represents in American history. At the time, Kardashian told Vogue, “I would never want to sit in it, dine in it, or have any chance of any damage to it.
Morrissette claims that any textile specialist can see that the dress should have never been worn in the first place.
“Everything you do ruins material that is more than 60 years old, including the fabric, thread, and sequins. It gets damaged every time you display it “He claims.
In a press release on June 16, Ripley’s, a company renowned for its collection of artefacts from popular culture, denied the claims made by Morrissette. In the brief time it was worn at the Met Gala, Kardashian “did not, in any way, harm the garment.”
The dress was in the same condition from the foot of the Met steps, where Kim put it on, to the top, where it was returned, according to Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s VP of Publishing and Online Marketing. “Continually with the dress on the Gala day and during the flight from Orlando to New York,” said Joiner.
