The billion-dollar Fast and Furious franchise was supposed to end with its tenth chapter, Fast X, in 2023. Diesel has suggested that Fast and Furious 10 could be split into two parts. However, series star and producer Vin Diesel confirmed in June 2021 that the series finale would be split into two parts, saying, “There’s so much ground to cover and so many places in so many locations that we have to visit.”
This article contains spoilers for Fast X.
The idea to split Fast’s final chapter in half allowed the franchise to do something it had never done before in its more than 20-year history: end Fast X on a cliffhanger, leaving the fates of several popular characters up in the air and making audiences even more excited than usual for the next movie.
But when will Fast and Furious 11 arrive in theaters? What will happen to Dominic Toretto (Diesel), a famous street driver, and his family? And is this really the last stop? Find out below what we know about Fast 11 so far.
When Will Fast And Furious 11 Come Out?
Vin Diesel said at CinemaCon in April 2023 that the Fast and Furious 11 movie will come out in 2025, but no exact date has been set.
.@VinDiesel reveals there will be a part two of #FASTX in 2025! “Everyone’s gonna hate when I tell you this, but I gotta tell you this. This summer is only the beginning of Fast X.”

Louis Leterrier, who took over as director of Fast X when the original director, Justin Lin, left over creative differences, will return for the next installment. The story will be written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) and Oren Uziel (The Lost City).

Fast X Spoiler Ahead! With 2 Trailers
Even though Dom was about to be buried alive by a collapsing dam at the end of Fast X and Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han were last seen in an airplane that was shot out of the sky, this wouldn’t be the first time in the Fast series that a character came back from the dead.
Jason Momoa, who played the crazy bad guy Dante Reyes and lived through Fast X, and Alan Ritchson, who played his partner in crime Aimes, will return for the next episode. Helen Mirren will be back as “Queenie” Shaw, along with her son Deckard. It’s unclear whether Luke Evans will come back as Deckard’s brother Owen Shaw or if Vanessa Kirby will play their sister Hattie again, as she did in Hobbs & Shaw.
Leo Abelo Perry will likely return as Dom’s son Brian “Little B” Marcos. Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson will be back as the resurrected Gisele Yashar and Luke Hobbs, respectively, after making surprise appearances in the last scene of Fast X and the after-credits scene of Fast X, respectively.
Even though it’s not certain, we might see more of the “Nobody” family working for the mysterious Agency that once hired Dom and his crew. This includes the organization’s former leader, Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), who was thought to be dead after a plane crash in 2021’s F9 but was only described as “missing” in Fast X, as well as his daughter Tess (Brie Larson) and Mr. Nobody’s former right-hand man Little Nobody.
Isabel Neves (Daniela Melchior), a Brazilian street racer and the sister of Dom’s ex-girlfriend Elena Neves, and Dom’s grandma Abuelita Toretto (Rita Moreno) are two more characters from Fast X who could be in the sequel.
Jakob Toretto, played by John Cena, seems to have died in Fast X when he saved Dom and Little B from Dante’s thugs. It looks like he won’t be in Fast and Furious 11 if he stays dead. The same is true for Brazilian street driver Diogo, played by Luis Da Silva, who first appeared in Fast Five (2011) and died in a fiery crash in Fast X.
Michael Rooker told Showbiz CheatSheet that he would “most likely” be in Fast X. In F9, he played Buddy, a friend of the Toretto family, but he was nowhere to be seen in the most recent movie. Cardi B didn’t come back as Dom’s friend Leysa from F9, even though Vin Diesel told Entertainment Tonight in 2021 that she would be in Fast X.
Don Omar and Tego Calderón were part of Dom’s group as Rico Santos and Tego Leo in Fast & Furious (2009) and Fast Five (2011). In early 2023, Diesel posted an Instagram photo of the two of them with a “Fast X” hashtag, “Mi gente… Leo y Santos… Grateful for all who have been a part of this journey… All love, Always… #FastX”
