Drummer Jon Card Passed Away
Canadian drummer Jon Card passed away. He was a member of bands like D.O.A., SNFU, Subhumans (Canada), and Personality Crisis. His age was sixty-three, and as of right now, the cause of his passing has not been disclosed.
D.O.A. posted a message on Instagram announcing his passing that said, “RIP old friend. Jon Card, Dec 11 1960-April 8, 2024.”
After playing in a heavy metal band called Stonehenge, Jon Card formed his first punk band in his teens, Plasticid, which he eventually renamed Suburban Slag. In 1981, he became a member of Winnipeg’s Personality Crisis and performed with them until their dissolution in 1984.
He contributed to SNFU’s 1986 album If You Swear, You’ll Catch No Fish, their 2013 last album Never Trouble Trouble Until Trouble Troubles You, and their compilation album The Last of the Big Time Suspenders.
He performed as a guest artist on NoMeansNo’s 1988 album Small Parts Isolated and Destroyed in addition to performing with D.O.A. from 1986 to 1991. At the time of their 2005 reunion, he also became a member of Subhumans (Canada). We offer our sympathies to the fans, family, and friends of Jon Card.
