Season two of Sex and the City’s reboot series, And Just Like That…, has begun. Sarah Jessica Parker announced the news on her Instagram page by posting a screenshot of the script. The 57-year-old actor shared a photo of the script’s cover page, identifying it as ‘episode 201,’ but she didn’t reveal too much because the title was scribbled out.
When the first series premiered on HBO in December 2021, it brought much-needed frivolity and Fendi baguette bags into our lives.
When can we expect the second season of And Just Like That to be released?
Unfortunately, we have no idea when season two of And Just Like That will be released. Fans are hoping for a quick turnaround because the first series began filming in spring 2021 (via Variety) and the first episodes were released the following December. I hope it’s the same in 2022!
Who will appear in the second season of And Just Like That?
Given that they shared the happy news about season two, we can assume that both Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon will appear in the new series, and Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, will also appear in the second series after being spotted on set with SJP.
The BIG news, however, is that Aidan Shaw (!!) aka Carrie Bradshaw’s former partner is set to return for a major season two character arc. According to Deadline, “Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) will reunite with former love Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) on HBO Max’s And Just Like That…,” and he is reportedly “set for a substantial, multi-episode arc on the second season of the Sex and the City follow-up.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sarah Jessica Parker essentially confirmed the news. SJP responded when asked if Aidan would return: “It could happen. I can’t be cryptic about it any longer, you know.” To us, this is a yes.
The news comes after a somewhat awkward saga involving season one, in which Corbett previously stated that he’d been approached to star in the revival, only for the show’s creators to say the conversation never took place. Awks.
In terms of the larger cast, it’s unclear who might appear in a sequel. So far, it has been confirmed that Evan Handler, Sara Ramirez, and Alexa Swinton will all appear in the next season after they all shared pictures from the And Just Like That season two table read on their individual Instagram accounts.
Fans are hoping to see Mario Cantone, Evan Handler, David Eigenberg, and Cathy Ang in supporting roles.
Then there’s the question of whether we’ll see Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel, and of course, Franklyn, played by Ivan Hernandez, who Carrie snubbed at the end of season one.

And Just Like That Season 2 Plot
At this point, your guess is as good as ours. But we’re guessing there’ll be some sex and a fair amount of New York.
However, the focus of the show has shifted to the leading three women at a new stage of their lives, beyond dating (well, maybe a little bit of dating).
Carrie is also readjusting to single life after the unexpected death of Big. Miranda has also returned to the dating scene, this time with a new man. It’s unclear whether Che and Miranda’s romance will survive the lull between seasons one and two, but you can bet it’ll be dramatic.
After all, this mother has fled to the opposite side of the country and abandoned her husband in favour of Che… what could possibly go wrong?
Aidan’s return will almost certainly throw a wrench in the works. We last saw the character’s steamy carpenter in Sex and the City 2, and their lives couldn’t be more dissimilar.
Aidan appeared to have it all together with his family brood of five, while she was struggling in her marriage to Big.
The operative word seemed to be until the two shared a meal and a kiss while abroad, leaving Carrie feeling guilty. Carrie was perplexed, Big forgave her, and everything was fine.
While she and Aidan may have chalked up their make-out session as a lapse in judgement, who knows what might happen now that Big is gone?
While Carrie and Miranda’s lives have been upended, Charlotte’s has remained relatively unaffected. Rose may have become the gender-neutral Rock (no labels please – no girl, no boy, no non-binary, no Jewish, not even a New Yorker – they’ve been very clear), but Charlotte’s only concern has remained her child’s welfare. It’s possible that a later season will throw something unexpected and life-changing her way.
When will filming for Season 2 of And Just Like That… begin?
The second season is currently in production. Parker shared a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a cargo jumpsuit, killer heels, and an oh-so-Carrie pigeon clutch by J.W. Anderson. “The first exterior. New York City Streets. X SJ, “The caption stated.
And Just Like That season 2 trailer: When can I see it?
You’ll notice it when it’s actually there! However, please return here for any updates. We promise to let you know as soon as we find out.
Until then, you can hit the metaphorical rewind button and binge-watch the original Sex and the City seasons, or if you’re feeling brave, both those movies on Netflix, to reminisce about a simpler time when Samantha was still alive.
