Zac Brown Early Life and Career
Zac Brown was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 31, 1978. He is the eleventh of twelve children and grew up in the Australian Outback, where he acquired an interest in nature and adventure. He began playing guitar when he was eight years old, and he learned classical guitar from one of his stepfather’s patients.
He also sang in his church choir and gave performances in the community. He went to the University of West Georgia and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He also worked at Camp Mikell and Camp Glisson as a camp counselor.
He began his music career as a solo artist, and his first album, Home Grown, was published in 2004. The Zac Brown Band is made up of Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar, Clay Cook, Matt Mangano, and Daniel de los Reyes.
The Foundation, the band’s major-label debut album, was released in 2008, and it yielded the smash singles “Chicken Fried,” “Toes”, “Highway 20 Ride,” and “Free”. The RIAA certified the album triple platinum, and it received the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2010.
Since then, the band has released five additional studio albums, including You Get What You Give, Uncaged, Jekyll + Hyde, Welcome Home, and The Owl, all of which charted in the top ten on the Billboard 200. Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Grohl, and Avicii have all cooperated with the band.

In 2006, Zac Brown married Shelly Brown, a jewelry designer. They have five children: a male named Alexander and four daughters named Joni, Lucy, Justice, and Georgia. They separated in 2018, and Brown later got engaged to model and actress Kelly Yazdi in 2022.
