Tate Martell was born on January 26, 1998, and is a former American football player. He was a quarterback and wide receiver for the UNLV Rebels and Ohio State, as well as a quarterback and wide receiver for the University of Miami. Coming out of high school, he was a four-star recruit who was featured in the Netflix documentary film QB1: Beyond the Lights.
Martell began his college career in 2017 at Ohio State, where he redshirted his first year. In 2018, he was a backup to Dwayne Haskins and got limited action in six games. After losing the starting spot to Justin Fields, who had moved from Georgia, he transferred to Miami in 2019.
