The 37-year-old former Real Housewives of Potomac star is expecting her first child with her 46-year-old spouse, Chris Bassett.

The “Drive Back” singer, who records under the name Candiace, initially disclosed the good news in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

She informed the outlet, “I am about 13 weeks… so just about into the second trimester. It’s been weird, but also really wonderful, I think, to keep it kind of to ourselves to this point. … It’s just been, like, kind of quietly just growing a bun.”

Following the shocking news that Candiace wouldn’t be returning to RHOP following season 8, she revealed the expansion of the Bassett family. Having joined in season seven, she spent six years on the reality show before leaving.

Candiace said, “As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth, and moments of introspection that have defined this journey. With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.

She continued, hinting that her departure might only be brief, saying, “This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later.'”

Thanking her fans, the singer of “Drive Back” concluded her message, “Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, and I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead — and more importantly, sharing them all with you!”

Chris and Candiace met while working together as servers and managers at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. In May 2017, he surprised her and their entire family with a proposal.

The couple wed in August 2018 in a lavish ceremony that was captured on camera for the show at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

In January, Candiace had in vitro fertilization (IVF) with one of the embryos they had frozen two years prior in order to become pregnant. The couple states that they are unsure of the baby’s gender at this time, as they only had one male and one female embryo.

Candiace remarked, “It’s so cool that you literally have no idea what you’re getting,” and she expressed excitement about joining the “mom community” at this point. “It’s a space I’ve kind of been peering into from the outside, most of my friends and my cousins have kids. I’ve helped raise and change diapers and babysit all of my cousins’ kids, so it’s just gonna be fun to be a part of that community and, you know, to learn and grow as a member now.”
