Sunday, Emmanuel Macron beat Marine Le Pen, the leader of the far right, and won a second term as president of France. After he won, Macron promised to bring France back together. During his time in politics, though, his personal life, especially his marriage, has always been a big deal.
Macron is married to Brigitte Trogneux, who is 25 years older than him and has always been there for him through all of his ups and downs.
When Macron married Trogneux in 2007, she already had three kids from her previous marriage to Andre Louis Auziere. Trogneux married Andre in June 1974. Emmanuel Macron is the stepfather of Trogneux and Andre’s three grown children.
Macron, who is the youngest president of France, met his future wife, Brigitte Trogneux when he was just 15 years old. Trogneux taught drama at Macron’s school, and she was still married at the time. Laurence, Brigitte’s daughter, was in the same class as Macron. In fact, Laurence’s parents thought the French President liked him. Reuters says that Macron’s parents were shocked when they found out that their son was dating his teacher, Brigitte Trogneux.
Anne Fulda, who wrote the book Emmanuel Macron: A Perfect Young Man, said that Macron’s parents were so shocked that they pulled him out of Trogneux’s school in Amiens and sent him to Paris to continue his education.
Brigitte Trogneux is from a family that owns a large French company that makes chocolate. The name of her father is Jean, and the name of her mother is Simone. Also, Trogneux is the youngest of five siblings. After she got married, she came back into the spotlight when former US President Donald Trump said she was in “great shape.”
